A 19.5 GHz 5-Bit Digitally Programmable Phase Shifter for Active Antenna Arrays

This paper presents the design of a new phase shifter to be used in receiver active antenna array operating range from 17 GHz 22 GHz. Beamforming is achieved by controlling signal each radiant element. In this context, shift obtained combination quadrature generator (QSG) and variable gain amplifier (VGA). work focused on VGA which has set dummy transistors keep input output impedance constant. The digitally programmable using 5-bit word. system was laid out 65 nm CMOS process, physical post-layout results show that achieves root mean square errors 4.5° for 0.79 dB at frequency 19.5 A comparative analysis with other recently published shifters shows proposed good compromise between power consumption accuracy.
